Terrapin to release official Walking Dead beer

A US brewer is to release an official beer of AMC’s hit TV series The Walking Dead and its original comic book series.

Made with blood orange peel and a “horrific” amount of hops, the 6.7% IPA has been brewed by The Terrapin Beer Company in Gerogia in honour of the AMC TV series and comic, as reported by the Beer Street Journal.

Based on a comic book of the same name, The Walking Dead is a post-apocalyptic horror drama which follows a group of survivors in America’s deep south following a zombie outbreak.

Terrapin has been featured in the TV series in the past, along with several other craft breweries, in the form of labeled boxes strewn in abandoned shops and bars.

The brewery’s Blood Orange IPA follows the release of an American pale stout infused with smoked goat brains last year, which was launched by Philadelphia brewery Dock Street Breweing Company in tribute to the TV series.

The Walking Dead IPA is expected to hit the shelves later this year and will be available in 22 ounce bottles and on draught.
