Riedel launches new decanters
Glassmaker Riedel has launched a series of new decanters including one dedicated to the god of wine –Bacchus.
The “Roman mythology-inspired” decanter is, like all of Riedel’s other vessels, mouth blown and in a nod to the god’s mystical revelers is shaped like a goat’s horn.
Maximilian Riedel, Riedel’s CEO, commented: “With the Riedel Bacchus decanter I strove to create a functional and powerful wine tool that tells a story of the mischievous and cheerful Roman god, translated to a sophisticated and unique decanter.”
The decanter is priced at £495.
Also released alongside the “Bacchus” were three other decanters; “Evechen” very similar to the serpentine “Eve”, “Riedel” and “Sommeliers Superleggero”.
