‘Drunk Knight’s’ note to passed out man goes viral

A wannabe Batman has been scolded for hiding a the keys of a man he found passed out at the wheel, then explaining where the keys were in a note pinned to the wheel.

Calling himself the “drunk knight”, the unidentified man decided to step in after he found a man passed out at the wheel of his car with the engine running.

But instead of calling the authorities, the man hid his keys on the backseat of the car and left a note telling him where they were.

“I found you passed out drunk with your car running, so I hid your keys under the atlas in your back seat”, read the note. “I hope you get home safe. I’m not your hero. I’m our silent guardian. a watchful protector – the Drunk Knight.”

An image of the note was posted by the “silent guardian” on image sharing site Imgur by Krazy_Legs, along with an explanation, which has since gone viral.

“The bars close at midnight where I am, so I tried to wake him up, but he just kept mumbling and continued to sleep. I decided to hide his keys in the backseat, just in case a cop came, and left him a note and some water.”

He added: “I realised once I was sober that a cop would probably just read the note and arrest him anyway, but at least I tried.”

While Krazy_legs clearly thought he was doing the right thing, many social media users slammed him for not reporting the unconscious man to the police.
