Chinese student builds house out of beer bottles
An engineering graduate and his father have built a two-storey house made out of 8,500 beer bottles in China’s central Qijiang District of Chongqing.

Li Ronguin’s first project from university was to complete a 29 square metre building with his father, reported the state-owned China News Service and the Metro.
It took Li and his father four months to finish and cost 70,000 yuan (£7,150). As well as beer bottles, Li used sand, cement and cobblestones.
Li graduated from a construction degree at the Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology earlier this year and plans to expand the building which is currently being used as an office.
Li hopes that his project will attach investors and partners so he can start his own construction design business.
Li also has the support of his neighbours in Lanya village where he lives.
A neighbour Li Yan commented: “The building is more beautiful in the evening as it is luminous under the lighting.”
He worked as an intern in several construction companies but left as he wanted to do something more creative. “It’s a waste of life. Whether I succeed or fail, I want to give it a go,” Li said.
