House of Lords dining room to open to the public
The Peers’ Dining Room in the House of Lords will open to the public in the run-up to the general election on 7 May.
As reported by Bloomberg, members of the public can lunch like a lord in the dining room, which will be offering a three-course menu including coffee for £35 on weekdays from 14 April.
Among the dishes on offer will be game terrine with baby leek and dandelion salad; confit of sea trout and crab with British spring salad and crab dressing; and date and walnut pudding with butterscotch and vanilla ice cream.
While the dress code is smart-casual, photography is not permitted in the dining room and advance booking is essential.
Diners will also be subject to airport-style security searches before entering the House of Lords, the second chamber in the Houses of Parliament.
