Oregon rosé in a can launched
Union Wine Company, the Oregon winery that caused controversy in 2013 with its Pinot Noir in a can, has launched a rosé in a can.
Hailing from the Willamette Valley, the 2014 vintage, housed in a 375ml tin can boasting a striking fuchsia label, is the Pinot Noir specialist’s first rosé offering.
The wine is also available in 75cl bottles, both of which can be bought on the Union Wine Company website.
Winemaker Ryan Harms believes the can format is ideal for poolside lounging, festivals, barbeques and other outdoor activities.
According Harms, the rosé offers notes of “strawberry, watermelon, and peach”.
Earlier this year the innovative winery launched Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris flavour lollipops, which it sold in gift packs including two tumblers and two cans of wine for $20.
