New look for Ridgeview range

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Ridgeview Wine Estate this year, the estate’s entire range has gone through a packaging redesign.

With the aim to “further enhance both their provenance and commitment to the future of their sparkling wines”, the Roberts family also wanted to “pay homage” to the history of the collection.

In order to clarify the hierarchy of the wines, the names of Ridgeview’s London-themed Signature Collection (Bloomsbury, Cavendish and Fitzrovia) will remain as a dedication to Christopher Merret, who first documented the process of traditional method sparkling wine in England in 1662.

The Fitzrovia Rosé will also be available in a new green bottle in response to general trade concerns over potential light shock for clear bottles.

The redesign also features a completely new logo, the addition of vintage to the neck label and the special 20th anniversary wirehoods.

Ridgeview’s premier tier wines, the Limited Edition Collection, has several premium packaging redesigns including textured foils and an additional bottom label, which Ridgeview says “will enhance their positioning amongst the best sparkling wines in the world.”

The wines Knightsbridge, Grosvenor and Victoria will be known as Ridgeview Blanc de Noirs, Ridgeview Blanc de Blancs and Ridgeview Rosé de Noirs.

“It was paramount that we use this opportunity to highlight our most unique wines and honour the purity of the fruit, the blends, their heritage and their provenance,” said Tamara Roberts, CEO of Ridgeview.

Ridgeview says the trade and consumer won’t be seeing a change in the prices of their wines as a result of these updates, with Roberts saying, “We have planned a number of exciting events in 2015 as this is our 20th anniversary year.

“The strengthening of our brand through label changes and visual updates, is simply to align the quality of the packaging with the quality of the product.”

The collection will be available to taste and view for the first time at Prowein, Dusseldorf on the English Wine Producers Stand (Stand A50, Hall 9) from the 15th – 17th March 2015 and will again be available at the English Wine Producers Tasting in London on Monday 11th May 2015.
