Hyatt hosts dinner to ‘bridge art and wine’
Pont des Arts and the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong have partnered for a special “Art and Wine Dinner” during Art Basel week in early March.
Taking place on 17 March at the hotel’s duplex Chinese restaurant, just 20 guests will have the opportunity to enjoy wines from Pont des Arts paired with dishes designed by the hotel’s executive chef.
The dinner will be hosted by one of Pont des Arts’ founders, Thibault Pontallier who told the drinks business that, as the Grand Hyatt was “a good friend”, he wanted to “do something special wwith them for the Art Fair.”
Pont des Arts was founded by Pontallier and Arthur de Villepin in 2010 and is designed to “bridge art and wine, East and West,” by creating a collection of specially bottled wines and spirits from around France and then inviting artists – largely Chinese – to design limited edition labels.
So far, Zao Wou-Ki and Yue Minjun have contributed work for the collections.
In addition to the dinner, wines from the Minjun collection (pictured) have been added to special “Art Basel hampers” which will be available in 18 of the Grand Hyatt’s VIP rooms during the art festival’s duration.
