Winemakers launch UK import company
Cellar of Knowledge, a wine import company specialising in labels produced by top French winemaking academies, has launched in the UK.
The company, founded by former students from Avize Viti Campus with their label Champagne Sanger in 1952, encompasses academy labels from Champagne, Bordeaux, Beaujolais, Mâconnais, Côte du Rhône and Sauternes.
Wine expert Jérôme Poussin will be the ambassador for the company in the UK, and will host a tasting of eight of the Cellar of Knowledge wines on the 26 January at The Westbury in London.
Poussin has worked as head sommelier and wine buyer for some of London’s top restaurants including Orrery, The Halcyon and One Aldwych before joining Bragard UK as MD and then setting up his own wine distribution company in 2012.
He commented, “It is a privilege to launch such a unique event. [It’s] a great opportunity to valorise the message about eduction and knowledge for future professional winemakers: Location, education and sensation.”
The wines being showcased will be:

Château Mongin, produced by Lycée Viticole d’Orange
Château de Bel-Air, produced by Lycée Bel Air
Domaine de Poncétys, produced by Lycée Mâcon-Davayé
