IWSC launches communicator search
The International Wine & Spirit Competition has opened nominations for its Communicator of the Year 2015 award.
Olly Smith celebrates winning the award in 2009
Sponsored by Vinitaly, the award recognises an individual who shows an “exceptional contribution to increasing awareness of wine and spirits.” Last year’s winner was Jane Parkinson, while previous recipients of the award include Jancis Robinson MW, Olly Smith and Oz Clarke.
Members of the public are invited to nominate candidates for the prize, with the final shortlist appearing at the end of February to be judged by a panel of drink industry representatives. The winner will be announced at Vinitaly’s opening gala dinner in Verona on Saturday 21 March.
IWSC general manager Ewan Lacey commented: “While the IWSC is known around the world for awarding medals to the best wines and spirits, we also know how important the people in the industry are with their knowledge and dedication. We hope that by opening up the nominations to the public, they will have the chance to be even more involved in this year’s awards.”
Nominations should be submitted by 13 February, either online at www.iwsc.net/communicator_nominations or via email to louise.bolton@iwscgroup.com. For more information about this award and the rest of the competition visit www.iwsc.net.
