iDealwine sees Champagne success
Auction site iDealwine saw buyers focus in on old vintages of Champagne in the run up to Christmas with prices for some setting new records.
Last November for example, a 1966 vintage of Salon achieved €2,400 and Bollinger’s Vieilles Vignes Françaises has also seen buyers, a bottle of the 1996 making €840.
Famous grower Champagne maker Selosse was another firm favourite, his 2002 extra brut blanc de blancs going for €468 a bottle and bottles of his “Le Bout du Clos” and “Les Carelles” making €258.
Meanwhile, Dom Pérignon is not to be denied, vintages from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s seeing “lively interest” on the platform.
