Dolan to stay as Bacardi CEO
Family-owned spirits producer Bacardi has revealed that interim CEO Mike Dolan will stay on as the head of the company after eight months in the role.
His position was cemented back in November when chairman Facundo L. Bacardi wrote to shareholders to deliver the news, but the information has only now been made public.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Bacardi wrote in the letter, “Having used his brief period of initiation in the interim CEO role to gain an even deeper insight into the company’s brands and its people, we are delighted that the confidence Mike gained in the Company’s potential to succeed encouraged him to take on the role permanently.”
Dolan, who has been on the Bacardi board since 2009, most recently served as chairman and CEO of IMG Worldwide, a global leader in sports, fashion and media.
Previously, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Viacom, Inc. and prior to that was chairman and CEO of Young & Rubicam (Y&R), the global marketing services company.
