Australian Vintage creates UK comms role
Wine producer Australian Vintage (AVL) has brought UK press operations in-house, appointing Wibke Carter to the role of communications manager UK.
Ms Carter will be responsible for company and brand communications across its UK and European wine portfolio, including McGuigan Wines, Tempus Two and Nepenthe Wines.
She joins AVL with experience in the PR & communications field, having most recently held the position of head of PR at the German National Tourist Office in New York.
In this role Ms Carter managed the entire press work for North America, and was responsible for the development and execution of strategic communications plans. Prior to this, Ms Carter worked internationally in various roles in the travel PR industry, including 18 months in London in 2010/11.
“AVL has seen a tremendous growth in the UK market in the last 12 months, with our McGuigan wine brand now being the fifth largest in this market, and we felt it was the right time to take PR in-house.
“We are delighted to have Ms Carter on board, and the potential this extra resource gives us to gain leverage and awareness across all media”, said Julian Dyer, general manager UK/Europe, Australian Vintage Limited.
