The week in pictures: Hong Kong

John Kolasa, general manager of Rauzan-Segla was in town to talk through some back-vintages of the Margaux property and sister property Canon.

The BIVB held another masterclass last week, this time hosted at Umami Concepts and focused on Pouilly Fuissé.

As usual the tasting was hosted via a livestream from Burgundy and was simultaneously happening in Hong Kong, South Korea, Ireland and Germany.

The Great Wines of Italy event took over the Four Seasons hotel.

A selection of fine wines to go with lunch at the HK launch of Coravin at Island Tang restaurant in The Galleria.

The shopping mall in the ICC now features a festive display of this classic toy model series. Kids both big and small were thronging the various display cases filled with fantastically detailed model trains.

The Occupy Central protest camp is still in place but seems to be rather more forlorn now that winter is drawing in.

A feeling somewhat at odds with the enormous Christmas decorations now looming over the site.

A member of the trade spotted this hotel in Beijing while on a business trip last week – “probably fake” was the pithy comment attached.
