Tennis star joins Jacob’s Creek campaign
Jacob’s Creek has signed world number one tennis player Novak Djokovic as the subject of the wine brand’s new “Made By” film series.
Directed by US film maker Keith “Keef” Ehrlich, the series was shot in Djokovic’s home city of Belgrade and tracks the “people, places and passions” that helped to make him a champion.
The “Made By” series is due to be released globally on 13 January 2015 to tie in with the Australian Open, part of the Jacob’s Creek tennis sponsorship platform. The initiative follows on from an earlier film project created by the brand in collaboration with another tennis star, Andre Agassi.
Djokovic, who grew up in war-torn Serbia, said of his involvement in this film: “Partnering with Jacob’s Creek has given me the opportunity to tell the world my story for the first time, showing what I’ve been shaped and inspired by.”
Highlighting the brand’s “long-standing affiliation with professional tennis”, Jacob’s Creek global marketing director Derek Oliver said: “Novak personifies the authentic spirit that we celebrate. Both Jacob’s Creek and Novak are proud of what we are ‘Made By’; partnering together we are taking Novak’s ‘Made By’ story to the world.”
