Searcys unveils £60 glass of mulled wine
Searcys Restaurant & Champagne Bar at London’s St Pancras International has launched a £60 ($94) glass of mulled wine, which it claims is the most expensive in the UK.
The Champagne bar’s Cinnamoney Spiced Wine is made to order and was developed by the bar’s senior mixologists and food and drink writer, Matthew Fort.
Along with traditional mulling spices such as cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks, the mulled wine also contains Lanson Pére et Fils Champagne, Muscat De Beaumes de Venise dessert wine and Blanche de Normandie Calvados with a bottle of Chateau des Gravieres wine, produced in the Graves appellation of Bordeaux, serving as its base.
Peter Alderin, general manager of Searcys at St Pancras International, said: “Mulled wine is a staple of the festive period but this year we wanted to create something slightly different that brought together the finest ingredients from France and the UK.”
The pricey serve will be available to buy at Searcys Champagne Bar at St Pancras International until 31 December.
