Pippa hints at taking MW course
Pippa Middleton, sister of the Duchess of Cambridge and aunt to the future King, is contemplating taking on the Master of Wine qualification.

The Royal in-law revealed that she sees herself as “a bit of a wine expert now,” having recently completed her Wine and Sprits Education Trust advanced wine exam.
She said, “[I] am contemplating taking a full diploma, described on the WSET website as the stepping-stone to the Master of Wine qualification.”
“From party planner to sommelier – now that’s what I’d call career progression,” she said, writing in The Spectator.
Candidly, she said that she sees herself having a role at the magazine – which runs a popular wine club – if she was to complete her education. She said, “I hear The Spectator has a very good wine club. Maybe I should sign up with a view to taking over.”
The announcement featured in a column that also touched on topics as varied as her taking up salmon fishing – with all of the “wonderful names we give these little fish lures” – to Kim Kardashian’s backside: “I must say that mine – though it has enjoyed fleeting fame – is not comparable”.
On passing her WSET advanced wine course, she said “I spent lots of time swotting up – quaffing, essentially, but with pen and paper to hand – and hanging out in an excellent little wine shop near my office called The Sampler.
“I tried to sneak in when no paps were about; it might have been a bit embarrassing if I’d been photographed repeatedly entering an upmarket offy [off-licence] for several afternoons running,” she said.
I would suggest that the title of this article would be more appropriate if she had already completed her WSET Diploma. Isn’t it a bit premature?
Totally agree with Steve! It’s a very uncertain long way from the advanced 3 until the MW!
