O Fournier extends vineyard ownership concept
Fournier estates has expanded its “Wine Partners” concept of buying vineyard plots to include its estate in Ribera del Duero in Spain.
First launched on its Argentine property, Santa Sofia, where investors are able to buy three hectare vineyard plots, the Wine Partners project is now being rolled out to the group’s Spanish estate too.
There will be 26 hectares, split into 26 1ha lots, for sale at Finca El Pinar, with buyers able to purchase up to 3ha at a time.
As with the Argentine wing of the concept, buyers will legally own the land and may do with the grapes as they like, selling them back to the winery or – more to the point – creating their own wines, deciding on the blend and designs of the label.
During the year the vines will be looked after by the estate’s team “with the same care as it does with its own vineyards.”
