Beckham’s Haig Club to open pop-up bar
Haig Club, the Diageo-owned whisky backed by David Beckham, is to open a pop-up bar and bespoke store in London in the run up to Christmas.
The whisky, housed in an electric blue bottle that takes design cues from the fragrance industry, has collaborated with the Whisky Shop on the dedicated store in Westfield shopping centre.
In addition to selling bottles of the single grain Scotch, customers will have the chance to try Haig Club cocktails and buy other Diageo Reseve brands like Talisker and Bulleit Bourbon.
Further up the country, Haig Club will link up with The Reserve Bar in Manchester on a pop-up that will include whisky tastings and masterclasses.
“We’re excited to be celebrating our first Christmas with Haig Club. The Reserve Bar is a wonderful location for consumers to try Haig Club for the first time and learn more about the brand,” Nick Temperley, head of Diageo Reserve UK said.
The House of Haig is Scotland’s oldest grain whisky distillery and dates back to the 17th century.
Haig Club is made using a process that combines grain whisky from three cask types to create a “clean” style and “smooth” taste that showcases flavours of butterscotch and toffee in a bid to attract new consumers to the whisky category.
The store in Westfiled will be open over the festive period and the bar will run until early January.
