Week in pics: Hong Kong

Martell launched its new limited edition Cognac “Premier Voyage”. The expression is to be launched in Asia proper next year to celebrate the brand’s 300th anniversary.

Altaya’s portfolio tasting, one of the highlights of the Hong Kong trade calendar year, took place last weekend with the public allowed in for an early evening tasting.

The entire portfolio was on offer, everything from Mouton (above), Latour, Salon, Palmer and Domaine des Lambrays to Perrin, Rippon, Pol Roger and Kilikanoon.

Celebrated Champagne maker, Dider Depond, was in town for the Altaya tasting and to champion a new Argentine wine created by a friend and just listed by Altaya – Tiano & Nareno.

Veronique Sanders of Haut-Bailly was one of several Bordeaux winemakers in town in the past few weeks, Sanders as the guest of honour at the Hong Kong chapter of the Commanderie de Bordeaux.

the drinks business hosted a dinner for some of Hong Kong’s leading fine wine merchants and auctioneers at Crown Wine Cellars this week, much of the spectacular line-up of wines generously donated by the guests themselves and by Kendall-Jackson.
