The incident happened at about 4pm at the Driftwood Spirits Liquor store in Delaware on Sunday, according to reports by Delawareonline.com.
Police said the man had walked into the business and opened the door to a cooler when he was fired upon by Michael Brodie, 35, of Dover – the store’s clerk.
According to police, the 33-year-old victim ran out of the store but Brodie continued to fire shots toward him.
Despite Brodie firing a further two shots at the man after he had fallen onto his back, he was said to have suffered only a “minor graze” that was not life-threatening.
Brodie has since been charged with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during a felony and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
