Valpolicella producer Tedeschi Family Winery has joined UK importer John E Fells on an exclusive distribution basis.

From 1 November Fells, which is owned by Port producer Symington Family Estates, will represent Tedeschi’s collection of Valpolicella, Amarone, Ripasso, Recioto and Soave wines.
With winemaking links in Valpolicella dating back to the 1630s, the Tedeschi family is one of 10 founding members of the Amarone Families Association (Famiglia del’Amarone d’Arte), which work together to promote this style.
Commenting on the decision, winemaker and export manager Riccardo Tedeschi said: “By joining Fells, we have put in place an expert team who will help us extend our presence in the specialist, independent and on-trade channels in the UK market. Their portfolio and insight in the UK market is unparalleled.”
Meanwhile Steve Moody, Fells’ managing director, described the company as “delighted” by this latest addition to its Italian portfolio. “Tedeschi Family Winery are not only an important addition in their own right,” he remarked; “they also complement our growing Italian portfolio which already includes classic Tuscan wines from Barone Ricasoli and superb Piemontese wines from Renato Ratti.”
