Disneyland launches Lanson Champagne

Disneyland Paris has teamed up with Champagne Lanson to release a very special cuvée exclusive to the French theme park.

The Cuvée Spéciale Disneyland Paris will mark the opening of the park’s new “Ratatouille” attraction based on the film of the same name starring Rémy the rat, a misunderstood rodent with a very refined palate.

The bubbly will be available in boutiques at Disneyland Paris hotels priced at €65 (£50) a bottle, as reported ladepeche.fr.

Its launch comes at a time when the park is struggling under a mountain of debt, despite welcoming more than 275 million visitors since 1992.

Disneyland Paris has been forced to ask for a €1bn (£785m) emergency rescue to save it from disrepair.

According to The Guardian, the park has lost money almost every year since it first opened now its main backer, the Walt Disney company, is stepping in to save the park’s parent business, Euro Disney.

The theme park, which was dubbed a “cultural Chernobyl” when it opened 22 years ago, attracted 14.1 million in the last year, dropping by 800,000 on the previous year, and 1.5 million on 2012.

Rémy the rat, the star of Disney flick Ratatouille, has a very refined palate.
