Brits chat on flights while Aussies drink

A recent survey by The Airline Passenger Experience Association suggests British passengers are too busy talking to drink during flights.

APEX recently surveyed over 1,500 people from eight countries aged 18 and up who had flown at least once over the past three months and the results show a direct correlation between your passport and whether you hit the mile-high booze trolley.

As a welcome escape from the “boozy Brit” headline it’s the Aussies who are most likely to drink with 36% of them saying they like an onboard tipple compared to 35% of Americans and, in third place, 33% of Brits.

It seems the British, like the Germans, are too busy striking up conversations with fellow passengers as they spend 50% more time talking than anyone else while the Chinese are most likely to be too fast asleep to notice.

The survey also found that men are more likely to drink on a flight than women, around a quarter of all people who fly buy alcohol on board and people who do make in-flight purchases tend to me marginally more content with the flight than those who don’t.
