Winery shows faith in synthetic closure
A US wine brand is demonstrating confidence in closure manufacturer Nomacorc’s Select Series product with the promise of a “100% Money Back Guarantee”.
The Nomacorc Select Series closure
The Entwine collection of Californian wines is a portfolio created by Californian producer Wente in partnership with Food Network, a “lifestyle network”, website and food magazine that “connects viewers to the power and joy of food”.
Promising to eliminate the risk of common wine faults such as cork taint, oxidation and reduction, thereby ensuring a consistent character from bottle to bottle, Nomacorc’s Select Series is now used across the Entwine range.
Commenting on this closure decision, Karl Wente, winemaker at Wente Vineyards, explained: “The switch to Nomacorc wine closures allows us to be more confident in guaranteeing customer satisfaction and ensuring that all Entwine wines are expressed the way our winemaking team intended.”
Beginning this October, the new guarantee programme will be advertised in stores and offers Entwine customers their money back if they are not happy with the condition of their wine. The scheme remains valid until October 2015.
“In a crowded retail environment where thousands of wines are available, our 100% Money Back Guarantee program offers added assurance to consumers that our wines will taste exactly as we intend,” continued Wente.
Lars von Katzow, president & CEO of Nomacorc described Entwine as a brand “backed by exceptional quality and a strong passion for expressing a wine’s vibrant aromas and flavours.” Stressing that “these same values are intrinsic to Nomacorc and our products”, he remarked: “Our company’s entire reason for being is to offer consumers the chance to enjoy wine without worry.”
Consisting of a Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the Entwine range aims to “make food and wine pairing more approachable” and come with a “diverse menu” of recommended food matches.
