The two-seat plane, a Kitfox IV, crashed at about 2.15pm on Wednesday into vines at Carneros Hill Winery having hit power lines four miles west of Napa Airport, said Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) spokesman Ian Gregor, as reported by the Press Democrat.
Both passengers survived the crash, including an 80-year-old man, and were taken to hospital but no further information on their condition was released.
Kitfox aircraft are amateur-built planes with folding wings for easy transportation and storage.
The crash is being investigated by the FAA.
