Madeira’s big guns head to London
A number of top Madeira producers are heading to London next month for a tasting at the Portuguese Embassy in Belgrave Square.
Taking place on 28 October, among the producers present will be Blandy’s, Borges, Henriques & Henriques, Pereira d’Oliveira and Justino’s.
Organised by the Madeira Wine Institute, the tasting is open to members of the wine trade, sommeliers and restaurateurs.
A masterclass hosted by Madeira expert Rui Falcao will take place at 3pm showcasing a selection of old and rare Madeiras from the producers’ own cellars.
Among the wines on show will be 10, 15, 20 and 25 year old Malvesias, and a Terrantez from 1971.
