González Byass UK tasting marks 10 years
González Byass UK will host its annual portfolio tasting this month marking 10 years since it launched in the UK.
While showcasing dozen of wines from regions including Spain, Portugal and New Zealand, the event will also feature three masterclasses hosted by Matt Patterson-Green, head Winemaker at Jackson Estate, Rafael Urrejola, head winemaker at Undurraga, and Christian Seely of Quinta do Noval in Portugal’s Douro Valley.
Following a decade in the UK Martin Skelton, the company’s managing director, said: “It’s easy to think of Gonzalez Byass UK as a Spanish company, or even a Sherry company, but after nine years of growth and diversity, we are proud to represent a number of great wineries from around the world, the latest, from August 2013, being the historic grand marque of Champagne Deutz.
“Of course we continue to represent the great Spanish DOs of Rioja, Cava and Sherry, and such well-renowned brands as Wirra Wirra from South Australia, Jackson Estate from New Zealand, Undurraga with their award winning T.H. Series of wines, and Quinta do Noval’s Port and Portuguese wine offering, as well as more specialist Spanish wineries such as Matarromera from Ribera del Duero and Fillaboa from Rías Baixas.”
The event will take place on 16 September from 10.30 to 4.30pm at Riba, 66 Portland Place, London, W1B 1AD.
