Waitrose launches vegetarian wine case
Waitrose Cellar has launched its first vegetarian mixed wine case accompanied by a vegetarian recipe booklet and wine pairing guide.
Waitrose Cellar, the UK supermarket’s online wine site, was launched in May with the aim of growing its online share of the wine UK wine market.
Replacing its previous incarnation, Waitrose Wine Direct, the service allows customers to mix their own case of six bottles from its range of wines, spirits and Champagnes.
Its vegetarian wine case, exclusive to Waitrose Cellar, features six bottles picked to pair with recipes devised by Waitrose Cookery School Head Chef, Gordon McDermott, and is priced at £70.
Its wines include a South African Chenin Blanc, French Bordeaux, Argentine Malbec, Gewürztraminer, Australian Pinot Noir and Italian Barbaresco.
