Stacked wine an Origin-al release
Origin Wine have introduced the Stormhoek Stack to the UK, a unique 750ml ‘bottle’ separated into four ready-to-drink glasses of wine that can be snapped apart and shared.
The recyclable bottle comprises four individual 187ml stemless glasses that are said to look and feel like glass, but are 50% lighter and have a shelf life of 96 weeks — meaning the wine “stays fresh for longer than any other product in the industry” according to the company.
Each stemless glass is heat sealed with peal-back foil lids and the stack is held together with a shrink sleeve label that has a tear-strip for opening.
In a move aimed at those who want to enjoy a fresh glass of wine without opening a whole bottle, the Stormhoek Stack is designed to suit consumers who would otherwise choose a single-serve beer or cocktail.
Bernard Fontannaz, MD at Stormhoek Wine owners Origin Wines, says: “We are delighted to launch the Stormhoek Stack to the UK market. The unique StackTek technology offers consumers the convenience of a non-breakable, single-serve glass of wine while retaining the elevated image of wine in a stylish glass.”
Launched initially in one variety, the Stormhoek Stack Chardonnay is available now in selected Tesco stores, at an RRP of £7.49.
