Mandarin Oriental launches “Pink and Purple” afternoon teas
The Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong has launched a new afternoon tea service (with pink bubbly) in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
The “Perfect in Pink and Purple” afternoon tea will run throughout September and October and includes a signature violet and blueberry jam made by one of world’s leading jam makers and rosé Champagne courtesy of Veuve Clicquot.
The tea has been created by the hotel’s pastry team and is designed to “capture the elegance and fragrance of late summer flowers”.
As such there is a focus on the colours and flavours of violets, roses, Egyptian starflowers, lavender and autumn berries.
Culinary director, Richar Ekkebus, collaborated with the president of the French Master Jam Makers, triple world champion jam maker and jam “Pope”, François Milot to create the violet and blueberry confection.
The tea is accompanied with coffee, teas such as a cold-infused hibiscus and blackcurrent Jing tea and rosé Champagne on request.
A portion of the proceeds will go to support the charity Breast Cancer Awareness.
Tea will be served between 3pm and 5.30pm from Monday to Friday at HK$278 and from 2.30pm to 6pm on the weekends and public holidays priced at HK$316.
