Luxury book to promote ‘the soul of Chile’
A new travel project has been launched in Chile, producing a “luxury” book and DVD to promote the country’s wine, food and scenery.
Called “I am Chile”, the project begins with an “epicurean 5000km adventure” which sees a team of five personalities drive from Arica in the far north of Chile to Punta Arenas in the south over the course of five weeks without maps.
Among the people taking the trip is photographer Matt Wilson, renowned in Chile and elsewhere for his original portraits of the country’s winemakers and striking pictures of its vineyards and wineries.
Using off-road Baja racing buggies, the team intend to visit urban and rural areas, and capture the country’s industry and agriculture as well as more obvious tourist venues.
According to the I am Chile website, the plan is to “dig deeply into the soul of Chile”.
The team behind the project are also looking for sponsors to help fund the project in exchange for brand-building opportunities.
