Brewery launches beer-infused lollies
A range of “hopsicle” ice lollies infused with craft beer has been launched in the UK with the help of London’s Camden Town Brewery.
The product of a partnership between the London-based brewery and ice lolly makers Lickalix, “hopsicles” are available in two flavours; Blackberry Shandy, made with Camden Hells Lager, fresh blackberries and lemons, and Lemon and Bergamot Shandy, made with Gentleman’s Wit – a Belgian-style wheat beer – and lemons.
Karis Layne of Lickalix said: “Making a craft beer ice lolly has been on our wish list since we launched in May, so we’re really excited to be teaming up with the guys at Camden Town Brewery.”
“We live in north London so they’re a local business – plus their beers go down very well after a long day in our lolly kitchen. It’s the last hurrah of summer so what could be better than an icy craft beer treat on a stick?”
The lollies will be available to sample at the brewery’s Tank Party on 23 August.
However Camden Town are far from the first to latch onto combining booze with a sweet tooth with the world’s first Champagne ice lolly having launched in the UK earlier this month.
