Top 10 drinks tweets of the week

Following the success of last week’s industry tweets roundup, we’ve begun taking the endeavour very seriously indeed.

Eyes have been strained, touch-screen phones worn-down to a nib by excessive swiping — we’ve been going to every effort to see what inspirational words of wisdom the drinks trade’s biggest characters have been divulging.

The following, well, they are the best that we could do…

Victoria Moore

Telegraph wine writer Victoria Moore is off on her travels to the northern Spanish region of Galicia, and she’s letting us know all about the glorious views.

In reply, Victoria, we are complaining…

Simon Woods

It’s a cryptic teaser from wine writer Simon Woods this week.

Anyone care to take a guess? (It’s a new one for us, too…)

Tim Atkin

Wine man Tim Atkin MW has clearly got a sweepstake on Argentina in the World Cup. After last night’s win over Holland, you’re just one step away, Tim!

Gavin Quinney

This unsettling image from wine producer Gavin Quinney left us questioning his – and our – sanity. Maybe a mixture of too much football and worrying about the recent hailstorms battering French vineyards has taken its toll on poor Mr Quinney.

Jancis Robinson

Poor Jancis Robinson MW is having to make-do with ready-made, cellophane-wrapped Sushi on her trip to southern France. We’re thinking of you at this difficult time, Jancis.

Will Lyons

The Wall Street Journal’s Will Lyons is showing off his summer look with the most dashing beach pose we have ever seen. The camera loves you, Will!

Richard Hemming

That certainly is an anorak’s glass from drinks writer Richard Hemming. You can get your own here.

Jamie Goode

A brilliant summer picture from wine journalist Jamie Goode. We especially like the man enjoying a massage in the background.

Jay McInerney

American novelist-turned-drinks writer Jay McInerney lowers the tone somewhat. That isn’t to say that we think he is completely wrong though…

Matthew Jukes

We’re glad that we have been able to pay witness to this rare, once-a-year event from wine columnist Matthew Jukes.

Pick it up, PRs! For Matthew’s sake!
