Over 1,000 rare lots at London sale
Sotheby’s has lined up over 1,000 “who’s who” lots of top flight Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhône for its London sale later this month.
The auction, taking place on the 16 and 17 July will begin with a collection of mature claret from the last three decades including 1982 Latour, 1989 Haut-Brion and Mouton 1996.
There is a strong selection of Right Bank heavyweights among the first growths, including Pétrus 1990, Le Pin 2000 and Cheval Blanc 2000.
Super Seconds are also much in evidence with all the Léovilles in attendance as well as Cos d’Estournel and Yquem vintages ranging from the 1970s.
The “dream” Burgundy assortment spans current favourites such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, as well as mature vintages of Robert Arnoux, Faiveley, Fourrier and Marquis d’Angerville from the “Collection Bellenum” of Maison Roche de Bellene.
Super Tuscans are represented by Guado al Tasso, Ornellaia, Sassicaia and Tignanello from the 1998 and 1999 vintages.
Furthermore, there are cases of Dom Pérignon Rosé and Louis Roederer Cristal from the 1990s.
