New York dentists offer wine to patients
Dentists in New York have started offering free wine to patients in order assuage the dread of root canal and fillings.
As reported by DNAinfo New York, Marini and Manci dental practice in Manhattan lays out bottles of red and white wine in its waiting room for patients to enjoy before their appointments.
“It’s an extra something that helps you dread the dentist a little less. I don’t know why more places don’t do it, quite frankly – the wine helps take the edge off,” a longtime Marini and Manci patient told DNAinfo New York.
The Dental Boutique on West 30th Street and Park South Distillery in Central Park South have also taken up the practice of offering free wine to patients.
“We offer wine as part of our efforts to create a welcoming, spa-like environment and make patients more comfortable,” Dr. David Janash of Park South told DNAinfo New York.
“We also provide blankets for people while they get treatments and scented towels to refresh their face and hands. Our patients love it,” he added.
This is not the first time wine has been offered to anxious clients in New York waiting rooms. A year ago a vet in Brooklyn started serving free home-brewed beer and wine to pet owners while they wait for their pets to be treated.
I love it! Why it hasn’t been tried in the Napa Valley, I’ll never know…..La Contessa
