The bottles of 2011 Chateau Saint Dominique were being transported from the estate towards nearby Castillon when the driver lost control at a round about in the vicinity of Saint Sulpice de Faleyrens, as reported by French newspaper Sud Ouest.
The French took to twitter, aghast, with Bruno Aujard commenting, “I’ve seen some bad things, but this is a catastrophe.”
The driver of the vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution but was understood to be unhurt.
French police created a cordon around the site and the broken bottles were removed by hand.
