Magday, a bartender at Mint Leaf, a fine dining Indian restaurant in London’s Haymarket, competed against 15 other finalists to win the title, which will see her go on to represent the Emirates in the Ultimate Monin Cup International Final 2014 in France later this year.

The Monin Cup is a competition which calls on bartenders to compete to create the best cocktail, and mocktail, using Monin ingredients.

Magday’s winning cocktail, “The Black Jack”, featured Monin’s green apple syrup, Jack Daniel’s honey, Hapsburg absinthe, lemon juice and ginger.

The first runner up was Stephan Mases from Burj Al Arab, while second place went to Ankush Kondal from JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai.

Held at the JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai, the event was judged by a panel of six industry professionals including Monin’s Andrea Fidora, Zuma bar manager Jimmy Barrat, Fresh Express brand manager Lasanthi de Silva and Atelier M bar manager Tomas Dundulis.
