Graduate lands job with beer CV
A canny design graduate landed himself a job with a digital marketing agency by posting his resumé on a four-pack of home-brewed beer – cleverly titled his “Resum-ale”.
Combining his love of home-brewing with design, 22-year-old Brennan Gleason delivered his CV, plastered on a pack of his 6.9% blonde ale home brew, to several agencies in Vancouver giving job hunters everywhere a lesson in how to stand out from the crowd.
The playful campaign resulted in no less than three job offers and ultimately in a position at digital marketing agency, Techtone.
Speaking to Yahoo.com, Gleason, a recent graphic and digital design graduate, said: “I’ve always been inspired by those wacky resumés, and I recently got into home brewing.
“And I thought: Why not put the two together?”
He added: “They were definitely kind of thrown off at first.”
“They were like, ‘What’s this?’ But when they actually saw it, they thought it was great and really liked the idea.”
The description on the pack, alluding to Gleason’s own personality, read: ”visually pleasing, smooth, and elegant, with a bit of a wild side”.
Genius.
