Gambero Rosso brings Abruzzo to London

Italian food and wine magazine Gambero Rosso is helping to present nearly 50 producers from Abruzzo to the UK trade next week.

In a partnership with the Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo, 50 Abbruzzese wineries will be presenting their wines at The Gibson’s Hall in the city next Monday.

Showing everything from Montepulciano, to Trebbiano and Pecorino, the aim to is to highlight the fantastic diversity of the eastern Italian region with its Adriatic and mountain influences and the “attractive quality/price ratio”.

Producers attending include Casa Thaulero, Feudo Antico, Cantina San Lorenzo, Casalbordino, Marchesi De’Cordano and Tenute Barone di Valforte.

Two masterclasses on wines from Abruzzo will be held on the day, led by Marco Sabellico, editor of the guide Vini d’Italia. The first will be held at 12pm, the second at 3pm, places are limited.

Refreshments will be provided by Chelsea’s Terra Vergine restaurant, which has made a name for itself as a specialist in Abruzzese food in London.

The event is taking place next Monday 14 April at The Gibson’s Hall, 13 Bishopsgate from 13.30 to 18.30.
