Michael memorial service will be held at Southwark Cathedral on Thursday 10 April at 3.30pm
In a note sent to the drinks business yesterday, Michael’s twin brother David confirmed that everyone who is planning to attend the service would be welcome to join him, Michael’s wife Lynne, and the wider family for a drink at Vinopolis, which is just a few metres from the cathedral.
As previously reported by db, Michael, who was head of Wines of Chile and Master of the Vintners’ Company, died last month after finally losing his year-long battle with cancer.
Those wishing to attend his memorial service are advised not to arrive before 3pm as there is a preceding service.
The family have asked for no flowers, donations if desired should go to either “The Vintners’ Foundation” or “St. Michael’s Hospice Basingstoke” c/o Richard Steel & Partners, Alderman House, 12-14 City Road, Winchester SO23 8SD or via www.rsponline.co.uk
