Delaforce joins Alliance Wine
UK importer Alliance Wine has confirmed the addition of historic Douro producer Delaforce to its portfolio.
The deal will see Delaforce’s Port and Douro wine ranges become targeted exclusively at the independent and on-trade sectors, with the full portfolio becoming available to the UK trade from next week.
Alongside the Port collection on which the house was originally founded in 1868, Delaforce more recently introduced a selection of unfortified Douro wines in the form of a Touriga Nacional, a Touriga Nacional/Cabernet Sauvignon blend and an Alvarinho.
“It is great for us to have such an iconic and historic Port producer in the portfolio and we are really looking forward to working closely with Delaforce here in the UK,” said Garech Byrne, Portuguese wine buyer at Alliance.
“We are looking to strengthen our Portuguese offering and feel that these wines are a strong start to expanding this side of the portfolio.”
Having been bought by Real Companhia Velha from the Fladgate Partnership in 2008, Delaforce has been distributed in the UK by PLB Group since 2009.
