Wine Society appoints Sarah Knowles
UK mail order merchant The Wine Society has taken on former Amathus wine buyer Sarah Knowles.
Sarah will become the eighth member of The Wine Society buying team
With the addition of Knowles to The Wine Society team, the company now has a new total of eight buyers.
Knowles will assume the official position of “buyer” and will take on responsibility for The Wine Society’s Australian and New Zealand ranges.
She is well known in the trade for her work expanding the wine range for Amathus, a drinks wholesaler and retailer better known for its spirits portfolio.
Knowles has also passed both the practical and tasting part of the Master of Wine examination and is currently working on the final aspect of the qualification: the dissertation.
“Her experience as a buyer and her achievement in expanding the wine range of Amathus, plus her flair for quality, makes her an excellent addition to the team,” said The Society’s head of buying, Tim Sykes.
The Society buying team comprises Pierre Mansour, Sebastian Payne MW, Joanna Locke MW, Marcel Orford-Williams, Toby Morrhall and Mark Buckenham.
