UK merchant expands into Clapham
Hackney-based merchant Bottle Apostle is set to open its third London store in March 2014.
Victoria Park Village branch in Hackney
The Clapham store will offer a range of over 450 wines with a particular specialism in Portugal and Italy.
The store will follow Bottle Apostle’s “try before you buy” approach giving customers the chance to try up to 16 wines at any time using the company’s “enomatic tasting machines”.
The store will also host in-store tutored tastings, themed wine events and its signature in-store “Free Friday Tastings”.
Owner Andrew Eakin, said: “This is such an exciting time for independent merchants to thrive in London. The growing demand for unique wines, spirits and craft beers is a driving force behind our expansion to a third shop. Customers are demanding informative service offered in an approachable, friendly environment”.
Clapham will also be home to Bottle Apostle’s, The Brew Testament – a craft beer and cider section located inside every Bottle Apostle shop.
Sourcing craft beers primarily from London, The Brew Testament also showcases brews from various regions including France and Denmark.
