Changing of the guard at SWA
As well as a new chief executive in the New Year, the Scotch Whisky Association has promoted a number of other new faces to key roles.
As reported by the drinks business in September, the SWA’s current chairman Gavin Hewitt will step down at the end of the year after 10 years at the helm and hand over to David Frost.
In addition, the SWA has announced that there have been additional internal promotions to the roles of deputy director of international affairs and government and communications director.
According to The Scotsman, Campbell Evans will move from his current position as government and communications director to deputy for international affairs, while David Williamson will move up from deputy to full director within the communications division.
All of the new changes will take effect on 2 January next year.
