Christie’s offers Champagne masterclass
Auction house Christie’s is offering a Champagne masterclass with Veuve Clicquot’s Dominique Demarville as part of its education series.
To be held on 21 November at the auctioneer’s Great Titchfield Street premises, the masterclass will last two hours and will give attendees the chance to taste four cuvées of Veuve’s yellow label – each with a different base from 2008-2011 – from bottle and magnum.
The wines will be delivered by cellar master Demarville straight from the house’s cellars in Reims having been specially disgorged for the occasion.
As well as the Yellow label, there will be Champagnes from other houses to taste, as well as “something special” Demarville will bring along.
Tom Stevenson will also be talking at the session and will be trying to show why magnums are, “intrinsically superior” to 75cl bottles.
Tickets cost £145, for more information click here
