The Benevolent announces three new trustees
The drinks industry charity, The Benevolent, has announced the appointment of three new additions to its Board of Trustees.
Andrew Hawes of Mentzendorff, John Mills formerly of InterContinental Brands (ICB) Ltd. and Dan Townsend of Treasury Wine Estates, were confirmed at the charity’s recent AGM. Further changes to the board were also announced with Christopher Carson and Tony Dee, who both became involved with The Benevolent in 1993, stepping down.
Benevolent chairman Chris Porter said: “I am delighted to welcome the new trustees to the Board. They are all well known and influential figures within the trade and bring with them unparalleled experience and knowledge of the drinks industry.
“Their appointment is a reflection of the on-going revitalisation of The Benevolent and a clear demonstration that the trade charity is actively re-engaging with the trade.”
Chief executive David Cox added: “I am very much looking forward to working with our new Trustees to continue to the vital work of modernising and revitalising our trade charity.
“The fact that such high profile and well respected decision makers are devoting their time and energy to The Benevolent indicates that the trade continues to be caring, forward thinking and ethically minded and is a positive reflection upon the culture and ethos of the drinks industry as a whole.”
