Codorníu rolls out new limited edition bottles
Codorníu has announced a schedule of limited edition bottle sleeves for its Cavas.
The first, a limited edition Barcelona sleeve, will be available from August in Sainsbury’s, with an £8.99 rrp.
The Barcelona sleeve, in honor of the brand’s heritage, contains the city’s key landmarks such as Las Ramblas and La Sagrada Familia etched onto the gold wrap design on Codorníu’s Brut NV. There will be an additional festive-themed sleeves to be introduced in the coming months.
The announcement is in response to the success of the Codorníu’s two most recent Limited Edition sleeve campaigns; Valentine’s Day bottles and a spring season sleeve. In a statement the company said that these previous sleeve campaigns produced an “approximate 20% uplift in sales” of the wrapped bottles, when compared with Codorníu’s standard product.
Carolyn d’Aguilar, brand manager at Bodegas y Vinedos Codorníu Raventos, said: “We’re delighted with the limited edition sleeves that we have produced so far and are thrilled with the response that we have had from retailers and consumers.
“We’re committed to innovation and this kind of activity is an ideal way to add value to both the Codorníu brand and the Cava category as it continues to rise in popularity.”
I read about this in Scotland on Sunday, I visited Sainsbury’s Dundee where the staff had not heard of it, nor could they find it on their computer system. I have checked Sainsbury’s online and it doesn’t show it either. So where CAN it be bought??
