Prince Harry parties at Glastonbury bar
The Glastonbury music festival enjoyed a royal seal of approval this weekend with Prince Harry and his girlfriend Cressida Bonas partying until the early hours.
The prince bought drinks for his friends at the festival’s Bar Boulevard and fitted in so well that the barman didn’t recognise him.
Bar manager Natalie Newby said he arrived in the early evening and was casually dressed as he ordered a round of rum and cokes.
“We’ve had a few celebs in before but never royalty,” she said. “We’ll have to get a royal crest for next year.
“He just blended in with everyone and looked like a normal punter. The person who served him didn’t realise who it was until after he’d left.
“We treated him as we would any other customer. Some of the staff who did recognise him joked we should ID him – but we didn’t in the end.”
The bar is staffed by volunteers from the Workers’ Bar Company, raising money for campaigning and trade union organisations.
Harry is reported to have spent much of the night in Shangri-La, at the festival’s infamous “naughty corner”.
The heaven and hell themed area features a Garden of Eden exclusive bar, where Harry is believed to been seen. The bar, a carpeted yurt with a chandelier and fountain, only has space for 30 people and serves absinthe cocktails.
