Cognac Frapin wins spirits trophy
Cognac Frapin has been awarded both a gold medal and the 2013 Best Cognac Trophy by the International Spirits Challenge for its 1991 vintage.
The Trésor du Château 1991 vintage, the most recent vintage released by Cognac Frapin, has been produced in a limited quantity and marked “Grande Champagne, Premier Cru du Cognac”.
Over 50 industry professionals participated in a blind tasting in the competition, awarding scores for aroma, appearance, taste and finish.
The 1991 vintage was decimated by frost which hit a large proportion of the Cognac production, and Cognac Frapin said that “each bottle is produced with the mark of rareness.”
Other trophy winners included Belvedere, which picked up a trophy for both Belvedere Vodka and Belvedere Black Raspberry, plus Glenmorangie Signet, Hibiki 21-year-old Japanese blended whisky and Berry Bros & Rudd for its No.3 London dry gin.
